2018 Miss Rodeo Oklahoma Teen - Maci Brown

As Miss Rodeo Oklahoma Teen 2018, Maci Brown is traveling countless miles across the Prairie Circuit state of Oklahoma representing the Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association and the Miss Rodeo Oklahoma Pageant. This 18 year old homeschooled student is excited to hit the Sooner State highways sharing her love for rodeo, horses and the duties of a rodeo queen.

But Maci’s exciting journey began long before being crowned a state rodeo queen titleholder. Raised in both the horse show and rodeo worlds, she began riding at an early age, 2 to be exact, and fell madly in love with horses. Her equine talents include showing with the American Quarter Horse Association in halter, western pleasure and English classes. Yet, barrel racing is by far her favorite equine discipline. And this red headed rodeo queen is certainly not afraid to get dirty!

Maci is no stranger to hard work on the family’s small ranch located in Agra, Oklahoma. She can be found daily cleaning stalls in the barn, checking livestock and feeding chickens and ducks. She and her brother, Karson, have quite a system going together in order to get all the chores done and still have time to enjoy rodeo. School is many times completed in the truck and this year, as she travels many miles as Miss Rodeo Oklahoma Teen, that will be no different.

In addition to training her own barrel horses, she gives riding lessons to children who share her same equine passion. She enjoys watching them achieve their goals and seeing their personality and confidence grow as they learn horsemanship. This encouraging statement, “The only person you need to be better than is the person you were yesterday”, is used when instructing lessons. Besides fulfilling her dream to become MROT, Maci is exploring her aspiration to become a veterinarian in equine chiropractor with an internship with one of her veterinarians.

Maci hopes to share her platform “Dare To Be Different” with the message meaning “don’t be a copy, be the original version of yourself.”

During the Miss Rodeo Oklahoma Pageant, held in conjunction with the Woodward Elks Rodeo, Maci won the categories of Horsemanship, Speech and Photogenic.
